156: Last round-up for 2007!

Ok,  couldn't think up another fun round-up thing...So...I'll just round-up this past year!!

For me this year has been a year with ups & downs. I remember the first part of 2007 and the way I felt. Scared of nothing and everything and having these panic attacks! Really I'm so glad I've got my mind set to love, joy, happiness and all the good stuff! I really does feel a lot better!! And just had to learn and see that life does go on, even when loved ones are not with us anymore. I did knew that, but well a sudden loss of a young special person...It just was a little too close to home! When I left this all behind me, I felt much better and still feel that way! I'm good!

There were also lots of beautiful things that happened. We helped a lot of people, that don't have a lot. Especially Abdel's family in Morocco! We had a great summer vacation in Mallorca with Abdel's sweetest brother...The little Quinn was born and helped out my cousin with whatever I could, when she really needed some support. Well I know there's more, but kind of running blank here! 

Then I really want to thank all my sweet visitors for taking the time to read my posts and leave me some sweet blog lovin'. You know I love each and every one of you!! But off course there are a couple of special ones...Karen, Lauren, Nancy, Jan-Mary, Edeline, Anne-Katherine, Kirsty & Biancka!! (ok we only just met yesterday Biancka, but seems like I know you forever!!! )

The last part, of my last post for 2007 I wanna close up with the pages I made yesteday and off course made a last one today...here goes!!

Last week when it was snowing it was taking some photos from the trees behind our house and all of the sudden a little bridie flew right in front of my lens...

My little brother Melvin and his GF Kiki...Took this photo when we went for a christmas walk in the parc. This was the first photo I shot of them this year and promissed we're going to do a shoot real soon! BTW, this page was mentioned in the weekend's gallery standouts thread at DST! :)

Ok call me silly...this is my little brother Melvin when he was almost 2...Edited the photo in lightroom and looked perfect for a silly old dutch page! Ok, I'm in kind of a silly mood, just right before new years! LOL

155: It's almost here - round-up (2)

I know I promissed I would be back here on Friday...well plans kind of changed. On Friday we first went to the bank to check on how much of a morgage we can get. Then went to the mall...I finally found a new winter jacket, wich was about time and lucky for me it's sale time again. Also bought 2 sweaters and 2 shirts...We went home had dinner and Abdel went to one of his friends for a while. Around 20:00 I wanted to blog, but all of the sudden I felt a little nauseas and my stomach made all sorts of weird noises...I decided to go to bed and watch some tv...Before I really realized I rushed to the bathroom. It was bad...I won't go in to any specific details, let's just say it came from the top and bottom. So no sleep for me that night...Yesterday I felt a little better, but felt like I was empty. I only at toast/crackers and water yesterday. Today I feel all better...I think! LOL. I had to get out of bed 30 minutes ago, cause I was so hungry I couldn't sleep anymore...And then, here I am! :)

So I promissed you my 7 favorites LO's of 2007...I was thinking...should I just post my own pages...or others too! Well I did added a lot of pages to my favorites gallery at DST, but to pick just 7 out of there would be to hard! LOL So I decided to just do my own....Most of the pages I have my eye on are from the last couple of months. Simply beacause I really like how my style has changed these past months. Would love to know what you think...And maybe if there's another page I made recently, wich you like better I would love to know. Take a look at my DST gallery

  

So those are my 7 favorites of 2007...But really I had like 12 on here and had to cut it down...LOL. So these are the final 7. The first one is from the stand up and scrap challenge and I just wanted to put this on here, because I think my style changed beacuse of this challenge. And really, I don't know if you played, but every new contest we were challenged to give everything we had. Looking back at this I think I could have done it waaay better...LOL. But it does have a lot to do wich my change of style! :)

So, then I want to do another little round-up today and that is my 7 favorites songs of 2007...here goes:

154: New Look!

So, since the new year is almost here and my fall header was a bit out of order, I decided to make a new header...While I was working on that, I thought I needed a whole new look. I think it was a bit too wide and installed a normal 2 colomn template...What do you think??? I edited some of my list and want to make a new slide too, but didn't have time for that yet! :)

Cause well, we were busy enjoying Christmas...did you all have a great time with family/friends?? I know we did! On Christmas eve we went o my aunt for a fancy dinner and 1st Christmas day we made ourselves a lovely dinner. Yesterday my aunt, GM, my parents, brother and his GF came over here for a brunch...I was so great and had lots of fun. After brunch we walked in the parc for 1,5 hours. Had some warm drinks and made chocolate fondue to get us warm again! :) We had dinner at Abdel's parents...so it all was great! Now onto new year.... :)

Did I tell you earlier I've got 1,5 week to sleep in late...LOL. Yes, I'm having some time off. I had enough days left this year and thought this would be the perfect time. Especially since I haven't been off around christmas in 2 or 3 years. So it was my time right now!! yoohoo!!!! :)

I only scrapped two pages, since this weekend...but have plenty of time to scrap some more...:) Here are the two I made...The last isn't posted to my gallery yet, but will do that today! :)

These are Max & Thijs...Thijs used to go to my group at daycare...Took these photos on sunday when I babysitted them for a few hours! They had so much fun in the tub! LOL

153: Brrrr it's cold outside!! (round up)

Yep, winter has started over here. Last weekend it begun to freeze and well had to clean my car windows every morning...Yuccck, I so do not like that! But well, that's just time of year :). On thursday it started snowing, I guess no one really expected that to happen here in Holland. I didn't anyway! It's sooo cold, but on the other hand I do love all the sights. Nature in it's full white glory. Talking about anture I think every season has it's on beautiful things! Flowers poppin up in spring (and can't wait till this happens), the lovely bright colours of Summer, the leaves falling in autumn and well...snow in the Winter. But I can't remember the last time I really enjoyed this snowfall. It's not much that has fallen down from the sky, but it does show all of it's beauty around us.... :) I do love it in some way! Maybe we'll have a white christmas after all!

These last days before new year is here, I want to do some sort of round-up...and the first thing I want to start with is photos. I saw a thread at MSA, Nancy posted her 7 favorite photos of 2007. Sounds good huh?? I thought so too. So here we go. I've only choosen photos after may, since that's when I got my DSLR and the photo before that, weren't that good of quality :)

Little swans...I've been following this cute swan family since May and they got bigger everytime I saw them. I think this was the last time I saw them and had a chance to make some photos. I did saw them once after that, on my way to work but didn't had time to take a photo! (July 2007)

Some last things I did this week...On wednesday offer-fest started, also know as sheepfest. Since my Fianc� is moslim we do celebrate and visit his family a lot. We've been having dinner with his family almost every night since then...On thursday I babysitted our second cousin Dalila for a few hours and went back to the Dr. and got another medicine for my eye...It's almost gone now...finally!! I also went out to dinner with the girls from softball and had a lot of fun laser questing and eating :) And now weekend is finally here...I promissed myself to scrap a lot this weekend, but only made one so far...here it is :)

152: Just stuff!!

Nothing special to tell you...I do have a coupleof things to show you. :) First of all let me tell you how my day was...pretty relaxed!! :) Was able to scrap a page...Did a lot of surfing on the netand and cleaned the house. Around 16:15 I left the house to get some gorcery's and wanted to buy something special for my guy. This year we're not celebrating Christmas, since we already celebrated sinterklaas this year. And well I got my end of the year bonus...well haven't got it yet, but it will be here by the end of the week :) I bought him a senseo coffe machine, cause he wanted that for a long time. I'm loving it already...now-a-days you can also make Tea and hot chocolate in there, and it's yummy...just had a cup of hot cocoa..Mmm

This is the one I bought since our kitchen is plain old standard white...LOL. The only thing that is different is the colour. It's sienna instead of yellow, wich fits our kitchen perfect! :)

I also want to show you some of my Christmas decoration, cause I promissed to show you earlier. We haven't put up the tree this year...just some other cute decorations. One of the photos isn't the best quality and a little yellowish, since I didn't want to use the flash. Well I tried but you couldn't see any of the lights when I used it...so here goes...

I personally love those statues in the box...I found that box a couple of weeks ago when cleaning out the closets and thought it would be perfect for this :) Put some light in it and fake snow over it...The little statues I got from my mom when we went christmas shopping. So cute!

There's more...but I'll leave it with this :) The last thing for tonight is to show you my LO I made today...These are my grandparents and they are so missed...especially around Christmas. My grandfather died on Christmas eve 11 years ago. And my grandmother passed away two years ago next March after a long struckle...This photo was taken, I think 12-13 years ago, when they visited our family in the states for the last time...If only I could turn back time...Miss ya!!!

151: Guess what???

I scrapped today...TWO pages that is!! Yoohoo, I'm so proud of myself. I decided to stay home all day and to be honest I've only sat here since I woke up. It's now 17:15...LOL. But let me tell you, it feels good!! So here they are...

Ok, call me nuts for scrapping my new shoes.
But I've been slobbering over these for weeks.
I usually never buy shoes this expensive, but I just
had to have them. So when my sweetie's monthly payment came, I went to get them right away! They inspired me to scrap them : )  (LOL)

150: visited the dr. twice yesterday...

What a day it was...Let me start from the beginning! Tuesday morning I noticed my eye was a little swollen when I woke up...I didn't looked that bad though and almost no one noticed :) But when the days went by it got a little worse. Thursday night when my parents where here, it got more worse. Did nothing about it and went to bed...yesterday it was still the same as when I went to bed...At work I bended over to pick something up I felt this pain next to me ear...and found out there was this bump wich was kind of painful. So I finally decided to call the doctor! Well I know me..if I wasn't going then, I would probably end up in the first aid at night. Cause I always want to know what's wrong!! So I called and made an appointment for 11:30 under work time...He told me I had an eye infection and gave me this ointment to put IN my eye...Who ever thought of putting stuff in your eye is just sick...LOL. I'm kind of scared when it comes to such things...but hey, just needed to if I want it to go over...and so I did! Makes me blurry eyed for 10 minutes or so...well if it helps I'm just putting it in...:) It should be over in 5 days...hopefully! :)

The around 16:45...I was getting ready to go home and had to do some last things...untill one of the kids from daycare stood next to me. She had a little tear in her eye, but wasn't screaming or anyhting. Then I noticed some blood dripping from her chin, she had a ugly cut in her chin...So I stayed calm and took her to one of the classes and called my colleague. Well we had to take her to doctors to have a look at this. So we walked over there, cause it's (supposed) in our street. Well the lady there told us the first aid there was closed and we needed to go by car. At this point we had no idea it was a 15 min. drive. So I went to get my car and drove to the doctor, that was only 2 minutes away...closed!!! We got a description on to where to go...After 15 minutes and a lot of searching we found it! Finally...it was glued together and it all turned out ok. Her mom got there right after it was done and so we went back to daycare. I dropped my colleague off and had a little chat with our chef...After all these happenings I came home at 19:00, two hours late. But hey, we couldn't leave this girl, right? But what I'm kind of angry about is this... No one knew this first aid was moved and I really think that is a bad thing!! We're a daycare and yes, kids get hurt sometimes. And since the parents are not there, we need to take them to the doctor. If this had happened after 17:00 we had a big problem. We always have to go with the two of us...and after 17:00 there are only 3 teachers left! So I'm kind of glad we were still there!

After this weird hectic day...I decided to finally get those shoes I've wanted for months now...hehe! And I did :) They're so awsome, I will take a picture later on today and show you tomorrow. Also have some other things to show you by then...cause I'm going to buy some extra christmas decorations in 2 hours. I'm going to the store with my mom and my brothers GF and yes...we're going to spend money!! hehe :) Have a great day and will see ya tomorrow! :) Hugs!

149: I'm getting there...

In the mood for Christmas that is...Decorated the house today and no didn't put up my tree. No tree for us this year, even if I did change my mind...I just couldn't since this year it will stand in my brothers place :) Yuppers, it's a fake on and since they don't have one yet and those trees are so expensive, I told them they could borrow mine. After christmas when the sale starts they're going to buy there own one. But although we don't have a tree, it looks all warm and cozy in here. I will make some photos next week, when it's all done. Still want to buy a couple of decorations and cute stuff!! So we'll go shopping this weekend! :)

In about and an hour or so, my parents, lil bro and his GF are coming over to have dinner with us. I'm cooking our favorite thing! Indonesian food!! Making rice, ajam padis (as in hot chicken), french beans (sajour), rice, cooking-beef (rendang) and a little salad. It just had abite and uuuhhmmm, getting hungry from all the yummy smells in here...hihi! And mayeb after worths we'll play some poker or watch a movie...we'll see!

Yes, we're having a 12 days of Christmas party...well actually it's a 12 days before christmas party...LOL. This big fun started out yesterday and we've been busy for 3 weeks to make this all happen! I'm up for the 16 & 17th two post two pages. The 7 of us all made two pages for ya, one for each day! There's also a chance to win one of 6 GC's the W&W store and then we also have a mini cd-album and tag book album to give away! So all I can say is...be sure to go there everyday!! We're also posting a new question or wish everyday and make sure to answer to be eligiable to win one of the extra's :)

Ow, I just checked and saw that Kenna posted the QP for the 2nd day of Christmas!!...Maybe if you hurry, you'll be able to donwload the one from yesterday too! :)

So on to some scrapping stuff...Remember I was going to scrap right after my last post...well I did!! And well, that's the only page I made this week...I'm just waaay to busy and I hate it!! Won't have time tonight either. So I think I will make loads this weekend. Our first weekend in weeks and then again the last weekend we've got nothing planned till next year! But hey, that's just the time of year, right??

148: We laugh, laugh &

kept laughing. Last night was sooo much fun, but before I tell you what we all got let me do a little more explaining. :) So usually we always do gifts with christmas. This year decided to do suprise gifts with Sinterklaas. We actually the good old man already left our country and we're kind of late to celebrate. But no of the less, it was just hilarious!!! The thing is we al draw tickets for the one you have to make the gift for. But it needs to be a surprise...you make something our of paper, cardboard, or whatever you want to use and it has to be funny! You can make something from someones hobby or a anything they're interested in. You also have to make a funny poem/rhyme that has to do with them and the surprise. Well let me tell, we had so much fun making them, but last night...hehe. we just kept laughing!!! :)

Abdel picked my cousins BF Peter. It was kind of hard to think of something to make. So he smokes and Abdel (well we) made him a  big cigarette (the brand he smokes...hehe). We had this mail tube where we'd put the presents in, two boxershorts and a credit note. Wrapped a big cardboard paper around and filed it with foams amd plaster, uh yes at both ends!!! It was just too much fun, to see him trying to open this thing. At last he decided to use a hammer to get it open...Check it out :)

Then I drew my cousin, (yes Abdel and I had a couple) So...it was even harder to think of something to make for her. But then my aunt gave her her drivers license and so I decided to make her a car, a pink one. :) Well some of you might have read my post from yesterday and no, the present didn't arrive. So I made her two poems, one for the surprise and one why the real gift wasn't there. I also gave her things for her kitchen en a bronsing powder. I'd hit all the present somewhere in the car: one in each box (there were two) and one in each bumper of the car. She loved the car so much, she didn't want to take it a part...haha :). So here it is....Abdel is working on the finishing touch on the first one :)

The my surprise gift. My aunt draw my ticket and so glad she did...hehe. She made me a 2nd (LOL) Canon EOS 400D, it is sooo awsome...I took it home!! haha. It looks so real, well made out of cardboard, but really it does! All details were there, the ring around my lens and even made the clicker...She got me a photo frame, a ligloss and the secret workbook. You just have to see this:)

 

Abdel got his own garage a*k*a showroom a*k*a car trade...LOL. It was also perfect and I know we brothers GF had a lot of work on this. Well, I think they made it together but it was just perfect!! He got some showergel and deodorant and some chocolate cigarettes...hehe. Yes we all need to quit smoking!! He loved and yes....he also took it home, so maybe one day he can realize his dream :) LOL. Although there was so much tiny paper bits in there...I think he and my brother decided to lit it on fire during new years eve...haha. Here it is! :)

 

Ok then I just have to show one more thing...my moms surprise! Melvin (my lil' bro) drew my mom, he made the perfect and most hilarious thing for her...So they're going ot redo the front yard and they'd aksed us for some sort od idea/designs for it....well I think you're already guessing here....LOL!! YES, he made her a new miniature front yard (with the house), hihihihi! It looks awsome and the so loved the idea. A cardboard box, filled with dirt/earth, little rocks, gravel and even some little flowers and plants...Somewhere in the dirt he had hit the present, all wrapped in plastic and tape :) Look at her go!!! haha :)

Everyone surprise gifts were awsome. My GM got a plaster wallet, wich she needed to break with a hammer...really this woman knows how to handle one...LOL! My dad got a real ferarri (well a toy one and it was huge) with a stuffed teddybear, wich holded the gift. My brother GF got a brown necklace made out of rope and toliet paper rolls wich also holded some of the gifts. My aunt got a cano..fileld with foam from a bottle...and last but not least my brother got a big boxershort, made out of foam, paper mach� and balloons...Well I loved it and we just had the best of fun!! So hopefully we do this again next year. Only then help me remind to start early on the surprise and gifts, so the present WILL be here in time...:)

Ok my sweets...I'm off, continueing my lazy day. Need to do some stuff around the house and just have to scrap...hopefully my mojo will be back! Have a great sunday...Hugs!

147: kind of lost my mojo...

Or is it just that I don't have time these past few weeks. Since my last post here, I've only made one page. And I just finished another one...I just had to scrap!! Here they are...The first one is my guy during our vavction in Mallorca.

This is the one I juist finished...It's the little Max, one of the kids from daycare. I taught his mom how to scrapbook and ever since she's sooo addicted! :) Haven't posted this one yet. Everything except the alpha is from weeds & wildflowers, the alpha is by Anne De Jong.

Tonight we're celebrating Sinterklaas and almost done with my surprise. I can't tell you what it is yet, since some of the members of our family read my blog now and then. But I looove how it turned out! I finished both of our funny poems and Abdel suprise is al done! I look forward to tonight and seeing everyones suprises, on the other hand I'm so mad! I ordered a gift to put in there, but it still hasn't arrived. I called the company a couple of times this week and that guy told me he would send it out on thursday, so I would get it yesterday...Well, NO and it's still not here!!! I called them last night and he said, well it's probably send out today (friday) so it should be there today! I was soooo angry with this guy since he promissed me he was sending it out on thursday!! Know what he said: well why don't you just rpint out the image and give that!! Say what??? Really, I'm so mad, I'm never going to order something with them...again!!! I mean just never!! I hate this! So I'm kind of still hoping they can ben here anytime, but also kind of gave up on this!! Why did this have to happen, now??!!??

Tomorrow is going to be a lazy day, for sure!! I've been so busy these past few weeks. I jsut need some time for myself and maybe, maybe my mojo gets back :)
